Technology Team...

Mrs. Miner coordinates the use of all types of technology, the
integration of technology into the curriculum and technology staff
development at McConnell. Mrs. Miner can often be found in the computer labs
assisting students in the use of the many software titles available to
students via our school network. She also works closely with the teachers to
plan and execute lessons which integrate the technology into the classroom
curriculum. |

Wayne Langford Technician |
Mr. Langford is our Technology Specialist. He makes sure the network
and all our computers are up to date and in good working condition. He
installs and configures the applications that are on our servers and
workstations. He assists in evaluating new software and keeps up with the
latest technologies. He helps maintain the McConnell webpage which will be
modified and enhanced with the help of our faculty and students as the year
progresses. |

Ms. Cummings may be found it the media center assisting students
as they search for books using the Destiny system, our electronic card
catalog. She may also be found in the classroom giving one of her
spellbinding book talks, she may be in the video lab teaching students how to
use our state of the art video equipment or instructing the video club as
they produce the live Friday morning news show. |

Mrs. Shackelton can always be found in the media center busily
assisting students as they check out books. She often assists teachers as
they schedule their classes in the media center and she schedules videos on
the close circuit TV as per teacher requests. |

Mrs. Gilbert maintains the Student Information System.
This system includes all scheduling, demographic and attendance information
on the students. She also assists the technology coordinator with any
computer related issues that arise with the staff. |

The McConnell Technology Team eagerly anticipates another
outstanding year at McConnell Middle School. Parents are always welcome to visit the computer
labs and observe the great things our students are doing with technology. |
